The Wa West  District is run by the  Wa West District Assembly in the  Upper West Region.  The Wa West District is headed by the District Chief Executive, Hon.Edward Laabiir Sabo, who is the political head in the the District.

The head of Administration in the District is the  Coordinating  Director,Mr Clifford who provides technical and administrative support to the the Wa  West District Assembly, departments, Agencies and Institutions.
