SITE HANDOVER CEREMONY HELD FOR 24-HOUR ECONOMY MARKET PROJECT AT POYENTANGA
Earlier today, 27th April 2026, the Hon. District Chief Executive, Hon. Richard Wulo, led a team comprising the Hon. Regional Minister and his colleague District Chief Executives to a site handover ceremony for the contractor in Poyentanga. The DCE tasked the people to be cooperative in order to help fast-track the completion of the project for the benefit of all.
The Hon. Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing, Esq., speaking at the short ceremony, indicated that the project will create employment opportunities for many people, including technical professionals such as carpenters, masons, and others. He further added that the 24-Hour Economy Market, when completed, will significantly boost economic activities in the district, the region, and Ghana as a whole. The Regional Minister, together with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Richard Wulo, and other stakeholder officials, formally handed over the site and all relevant documents to the contractor.
The Poyentanga Chief, speaking on behalf of the people of Poyentanga and other stakeholders, expressed his profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and all officials involved for this important and life-changing policy—the 24-Hour Economy Market Policy—which has now come to Wa West, specifically Poyentanga. He pleaded with the contractor to work diligently to transform what is on paper into reality and tasked his community members to fully participate in and support this noble course.
